The cottage is particularly well suited for those who enjoy walking and wildlife, as there are several beautiful walks direct from the door, through a variety of landscapes from gentle walks around nearby lakes to steep mountain terrain; through woodland and open moorland; through vineyards and rolling countryside.

The nearby Canal du Midi, a World Heritage site, can be accessed near Carcassonne and is ideal for those who want a gentle stroll or cycle and a glass of wine at the end of it!

The breathtaking medieval cite of Carcassonne is also a World Heritage site, well worth a visit, and will fascinate children and adults alike. It is also a rich source of excellent restaurants, although there are several good restaurants close to the village.

Don't miss the Cathar Chateaux of Lastours and Saissac close by, or the Gouffre de Cabrespine, one of the world's largest natural chasms and the Grotte de Limousis, both just 15-20 minutes away. The Mediterranean is just 1 hour away.
