Our cottages are particularly well suited for those who enjoy walking and wildlife, as there are several beautiful walks direct from the door through a variety of landscapes, from gentle walks around nearby lakes to steep mountain terrain, through woodland and open moorland, vineyards and rolling countryside.  Experience sun, skiing, sports, culture, and over 2,600 years of history.

The nearby Canal du Midi, a World Heritage site, can be accessed near Carcassonne and is ideal for those who want a gentle stroll or cycle and perhaps a glass of wine at the end of it! 

The breathtaking medieval Cité of Carcassonne is also a World Heritage site, well worth a visit, and will fascinate children and adults alike. There is a selection of excellent restaurants in the Cité, as well as several near the cottage.

Don't miss the Cathar Chateaux of Lastours and Saissac close by, or the Gouffre de Cabrespine, one of the world's largest natural chasms, and the Grotte de Limousis, both just 15-20 minutes away.

The Mediterranean beaches are just 1 hour away, the Pyrenees offer beautiful scenery all year round, or try the music festivals, gourmet cuisine, and the wines of Languedoc Roussillon. The choice is yours.

Usually flights are available from Ryanair directly into Carcassonne from a large number of UK airports on a Saturday or Sunday but we have also shown alternatives of which we are currently aware.
